Welcome to the Primary School

Welcome to New Albany Primary School! We take pride in our diversity, our accomplishments, and our commitment to excellence in all that we do. We are committed to creating a school where there is a sense of belonging, a desire for community, and a place where we encourage our students to treat each other with kindness, dignity and respect. Our expectations for our students focus on the Three B's - Be Kind, Be Safe and Be Responsible. Our school is divided into four learning communities that are color coded in their individual hallways to help student with navigating the building.  The hallways are purple, blue, green and yellow and each are configured with classrooms of grades 1 through 3. 

Many of our teachers work collaboratively in the various hallways and take a team approach to teaching. They engage students in projects throughout the year and provide opportunities for kids to build friendships in their classroom and with the others in their hallway. On a typical school day our students have the opportunity to participate in specials. These are classes where they will typically travel to another area of our building. These include, Wellness in our gymnasium, music, art, library and technology.

Classes are scheduled multiple times throughout the day to have lunch in our cafeteria. There are many selections to choose from each day. After lunch, they head outside for recess. Our playground has recently been updated with new swings, and several new features. It is a favorite spot for our students every day.
